Do Prop Firms Actually Pay? How to Verify Instead of Trust

Drift Fund Team · September 19, 2026

Type "do prop firms actually pay" into any search engine and you will find two things: firms swearing they do, and forum threads full of doubt. Both are rational. The industry has had real blow-ups, and a screenshot of a payout dashboard proves nothing — anyone can edit a number in a browser.

So instead of telling you to trust us, this article shows you how to verify — any firm, not just ours.

Why screenshots are worthless

A payout "certificate" image, a Discord announcement, a dashboard screenshot: all of these are pixels a firm controls. They prove marketing effort, not money movement. The only payout evidence that cannot be faked is a transaction on a public blockchain, because the blockchain is a ledger nobody — not us, not any firm — can edit.

The three-step verification

  1. Get the transaction hash. A firm that really paid in crypto has one for every payout — a long string like 5dd918d1c341…. If a firm will not show hashes, ask why.
  2. Open it on a public explorer — Tronscan for TRC-20, Etherscan for ERC-20. You are now reading the blockchain directly, not the firm's website.
  3. Check the three facts: the amount matches the claim, the date matches the claim, and the transaction actually settled.

That is it. No trust involved at any step.

The worked example: our own log

We publish our payouts with their hashes on the payouts section of our site — 49 published as of this writing, each with a verification page that links straight to the public explorer. Pick any of them, follow the hash, and check the three facts yourself. The largest single payout published is over $36,000; the log is not curated to hide small ones either.

Two honest notes, because the point of this article is precision:

  • We publish payouts with the trader's consent, so the public log is most of our payouts, not every last one.
  • A payout log proves a firm pays. It does not promise you will be paid a particular amount — that depends on your trading. No honest firm can promise income, and you should be suspicious of any that does.

What paying firms have in common

From operating one, and from watching the industry: firms that pay reliably tend to share three traits — payout rules published before you buy (minimum days, profit thresholds, consistency rules — ours are here), automated rule enforcement with no discretionary "reviews" invented after the fact, and proof that leaves their own website (hashes, not screenshots).
